The updated Mazda 6 will start from just over £23,000 when it goes on sale this summer.
The facelift introduces revised styling, an upgraded cabin and improved technology. Mazda has confirmed the Saloon model will cost from £23,045 with the Tourer estate version starting at £23,975.
Those prices are for cars equipped with a 143bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine. At launch, buyers are also offered a 2.2-litre diesel with 148bhp, with prices starting from £25,445. More engine option will be added to the range at a later date.
The 6 range is available in four trim levels: SE-L Nav+, SE-L LUX Nav+, Sport Nav+ and GT Sport Nav+.
The base SE-L model now includes LED headlights, front and rear parking sensors and adaptive cruise control.
LUX adds heated leather seats and heated steering wheel plus reversing camera.
Sport models feature larger alloy wheels, a Bose speaker system and keyless entry, while range-topping GT Sport gets Nappa leather ventilated seats and a sunroof.
External alterations are fairly subtle. There’s a new grille, LED lighting and new wheels, which are available in 17in and 19in sizes. More change has gone on under the skin, with Mazda aiming to make the car more refined and dynamic to drive.
Both Saloon and Tourer get new chassis settings that Mazda claims will make them handle better and be more comfortable to drive.
The changes include revised spring rates, adjusted suspension geometry and extra chassis braces to improve rigidity. Engineers have also equipped the car with a rigid-mounted steering column to enhance its responsiveness.
The updates are said to reduce vibrations that make their way into the cabin, decrease harshness when rolling over changing surfaces and give the car a more supple ride.
